Rituals~Featured at International Quilt Market/Festival
Havel’s Scissors is proud to be a sponsor of Rituals by Curators, Jamie Fingal and Leslie Tucker Jenison. Jamie and Leslie, along with forty artists, have come together to reveal the art that can be found in everyday life. I had the privilege to see the exhibit at the International Quilt Festival in Houston this year. The ingenuity of the artwork in the exhibit is nothing short of spectacular! Each artist tells a story through the threads of the fabric. And the stories that are woven through each piece will inspire you to live life to the fullest and appreciate each and every opportunity we are given to share with loved ones.

Sharing great food with great people is important to me, at the kitchen table. Lively conversation with loved ones, sitting down, face to face, interacting — nothing better. Enjoying delicious food with that conversation, just an extra bonus.

“Tiempo del Sol; Rituals de Jardin” was born out of my obsession with sundials, Roman numerals, Gingko leaves and tea bag butterflies, I started this art quilt after I had an internal heart tune-up, which rocked my world. Amazingly, my husband had open heart and quad bypass surgery in the middle of this quilt. I felt I would not finish it in time. I was desperate for some creative time, and spiritual guidance pushed me to completion, making an even better piece than I envisioned. The inspiration sundial is right outside my kitchen window. Hobbies: Hornets Nest quilts, Mannequin quilts, floral design.
