Boo Blocks Tutorial

Boo Blocks Tutorial
by Jessica Schunke of Blue Sky Modern Craft (https://www.blueskymoderncraft.com/)

My house is sadly devoid of crafty Halloween projects — limited to one very basic table runner I bring out each year — so this year, I decided to finally remedy that, starting with these fun “BOO!” blocks. My original intention was to turn them into coasters, but their size actually makes them great for all kinds of projects, from coasters and table runners to sampler-style Halloween quilts. Orange is one of my favorite colors to use in quilts, so I have lots of small scraps in various shades in my scrap bin. It’s always fun to sort back through them and be reminded of the projects I first used them in. Plus, the size of these blocks (they finish at just 6″) means you can use up even the smallest of scraps. Don’t worry if you’re less scrappy than me; you can feel free to cut your block pieces from just a few prints.

The pattern walks you through making the individual blocks and then provides basic instructions for turning them into coasters or a table runner, but don’t let your imagination or creativity stop there! I can’t wait to see how you use them in your own crafts.
